In October of last year, Charlie Puth came to the city of Boston, treating us to his highly anticipated live performance for his latest album, “Charlie”. The artist gifted his fans with an intimate show at the Orpheum Theater, where they experienced the live debut of his new music. This smaller-scale tour served as an exciting prelude to the news of another, bigger, upcoming tour. On June 6th, Charlie took the stage at The Leader Bank Pavilion in the Boston’s Seaport area to introduce us to “The “Charlie” Live Experience”.
Blue DeTiger, singer-songwriter from New York City, joined the stage at 7:30pm. The artist has risen to fame on social media platforms, earning the well-deserved title of “The Bass Queen” for her exceptional bass skills. Her talent has captivated audiences worldwide with her music and she has proven herself to be an up-and-coming artist worthy of attention. Blue DeTiger’s ability to blend funk, pop, and rock influences sets the stage for a great night of music.
Around 8:45 p.m., Puth finally took the stage, commencing his set with a unique introduction. He came out onto the stage and before singing he performed a quick act, he guided the audience through the inspiration behind his opening song, “Charlie Be Quiet!”. In a mesmerizing display, he constructed the song before their very eyes, showcasing his effortless vocals and profound understanding of music theory. As he shared with Front of House Boston in an interview: “I think the best way to describe it is, in this show there are four acts, and it is almost kind of a Broadway show”. Throughout the concert, the singer entertained us with acting scenes and covers of songs by other artists, immersing us in a journey that offered a glimpse into the fascinating depths of his artistic mind.
From this show you can expect the best of Charlie’s repertoire of songs. Including his collaboration with BTS and Jungkook, “Left and Right,” as well as “No More Drama” and “Light Switch”, songs that took over Tik Tok when first released. The singer also brings us his biggest hits like, “Attention,” and the sensational collaboration with Selena Gomez, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”.
The crowd was left in awe as he returned for not one, but two encores, each time amplifying the already electric atmosphere with escalating excitement from the fans. Charlie Puth brought the house down, concluding the night with his globally acclaimed anthem, “See You Again.” You could feel the buzz in the air as Charlie’s infectious energy kept us singing his tunes all the way out of the venue, a testament to the sheer exhilaration he brings whenever he’s back in town.
