Frances Forever closed out their first ever headlining tour in Boston, doubling as their hometown show, to make it a very special night for them. Frances had mentioned during the show that they have always dreamed of playing The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA ever since they grew up going to shows at that very venue. It was a full circle moment and amazing to witness live, as they fulfilled that dream.
Fans packed the room of the 525-capacity venue, and everywhere you looked there were party hats and glittery outfits. What made this headline tour even cooler was that Frances set a certain theme for each show that corresponded to their songs. This night’s theme was “Paranoia Party,” hence the many party hats. Themed shows always amplify the environment, as people go above and beyond with unique outfits and attire. Fans definitely came to slay for this show.
Frances is fresh off of their debut album release titled “Lockjaw.” It’s a spectacular album that is heartfelt and raw with catchy indie pop vibes. Frances does a fantastic job at writing music that people, especially queer people, can relate to and that is so important. As a queer artist themselves, Frances took a moment to share that their shows are safe spaces for the queer community.
The show as a whole was so special, especially being a hometown show. There were moments Frances even teared up on stage with the crowd showing their appreciation. The setlist was stellar as they played hits like “Mr. Man,” “Paranoia Party,” and of course “Space Girl.” During “Baby Bangs,” Frances brought out show opener Grace Gardner who sang alongside Frances to the crowd’s delight.
Frances Forever delivered a show that was both captivating and cathartic, leaving a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to witness it. Their music transcends genres, blending indie-pop sensibilities with heartfelt lyricism, creating an experience that is as memorable as it is enjoyable. If you have the chance to see Frances Forever live, don’t miss out, it’s an experience you won’t forget.
