The four piece Italian rock group Måneskin, who rose to fame after winning Eurovision in 2021, performed for an excited crowd at TD Garden Monday night. The group has become more “rock” than most mainstream bands on the charts currently. The band is extremely popular in their home country playing to crowds around 60,000. They are still working to get to that level in the US, having just released their first predominantly English album Rush! earlier this year.
The crowd ranged from younger teenagers to older adults and everyone in between. They began the show with “Don’t Wanna Sleep” and went into “Gossip” both off of their latest album. From the first note the crowd was fully immersed belting out the lyrics whether they were in Italian or English. The band also took turns crowd surfing throughout the set which is something I had not seen done in years. Frontman Damiano David fed off of the crowd’s energy and was so entertaining to watch.
After most of the set, there was an instrumental interlude and it was revealed that David had made his way over to the B stage that was located on the other end of the GA pit. He performed “Timezone” and “If Not for You” acoustically before making his way back over to the main stage.
They closed out the set with “Kool Kids” where they invited a bunch of fans to come up on stage for the song. The encore consisted of “The Lonliest” and their hit “I Want to be Your Slave.” Måneskin was one of the coolest bands I have seen this year, they truly look like they all are having a good time every night. Cannot wait to catch them back in Boston on their next tour!
