Mxmtoon Shines in Her First Arena Tour in Boston

It was an exciting night in Boston at the TD Garden with AJR’S the Maybe Man Tour rolling through the city to close out the tour. Indie pop superstar mxmtoon, otherwise known as Maia, stole the show as she gave it her all to close out a spectacular tour. She may have opened the show but we could see her easily headlining arenas anytime soon.

The excitement was in the air and Maia’s most devoted fans were up front at the barricade ready to see her slay. A couple of her fans had signs saying they saw her the previous nights at Madison Square Garden, which was cool to see. As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted into cheers, she took the stage with a smile and a wave. Opening with Fever Dream,” the energy in the room was immediately infectious. The song’s upbeat tempo and relatable lyrics set the tone for a night filled with heartfelt and exciting performances.

Maia’s charm was undeniable as she chatted between songs, sharing the stories behind her music and her witty stage banter. This personal touch made the concert feel intimate, almost like a gathering of friends rather than a performance.

Her setlist was a well-balanced mix of fan favorites like “Prom Dress,” “Sad Disco,” and “Mona Lisa,” as well as a new song, “I Hate Texas,” from her highly anticipated upcoming album. The crowd loved every minute of it, even those who were just discovering her that night, as she had the crowd captivated throughout her entire set.

A really sweet moment in her set was towards the end where everyone had gotten their phone lights out and waved them in the air in unison. It was a beautiful moment and such an amazing way to end such a stellar set and tour. If you haven’t seen an mxmtoon show before you are simply missing out. Be sure to catch her next time she’s on tour!
